Attention All Providers - New Eligibility System: Have you come across client identification (ID) number that begins with 10 instead of the usual 00? You may wonder if it is valid or not. Rest assured that it is a valid client ID.
The Department of Social Services (DSS) has started the conversion process to a new eligibility system called ImpaCT. This conversion is scheduled to be done in multiple phases; the completed phases, now complete, include clients associated with the Middletown, Torrington, Hartford, Danbury, and Stamford offices. Existing client ID numbers will not change as clients are converted to ImpaCT. However, clients who have never applied to the Connecticut Medical Assistance Program (CMAP), and are screened for eligibility in the ImpaCT system, will have an ID beginning with 10. Client IDs will continue to be 9 digits. Please continue to check eligibility prior to providing services.
