Addition Of Procedure Code G0330 To The ASC Fee Schedule - Retroactive for dates of service April 1, 2023, and forward, procedure code G0330 will be added to the Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) fee schedule. Dental providers who perform dental services in the ASC are responsible for obtaining prior authorization (PA) or post procedure review (PPR), when applicable, and billing Gainwell Technologies directly for the dental services that they perform. Updating Dental Code for Billing the Dental Component of the Multi-disciplinary Examinations - Attention: Dental providers, Clinics, Hospitals, and FQHCs - For dates of service April 1, 2023, and forward, dental providers/clinics must bill Current Dental Terminology (CDT) code D0140-Limited oral evaluation-problem focused instead of CDT code D0190 - Screening of a Patient when billing the dental component of the multi-disciplinary examination (MDE). D1354 - Interim Caries Arresting Medicament is for use by dentists only who treat children and/or adults. The application of the Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) will continue to be approved based on the arch and tooth numbers(s). Details

Dentists Have A Place On Cancer Teams - It has been well documented that patients who have been diagnosed with "cancer" often place other health concerns off, including dental problems. This often results in the delay of treatment and recovery from the side effects of treatment and effects on oral health. Dr. Dalal Alhajji, MSD at the NYU College of Dentistry, states that dentists can counsel patients who experience unique issues related to oral health or who want to minimize side effects of their cancer therapies. Dental Fee Schedule Update for the Adult Fee Schedule - Effective for dates of service July 1, 2022, and forward, the DSS is increasing the dental rates for adults for endodontic services to equal the children's reimbursement rate and for all other services on the Adult Dental Fee Schedule by 25%. Adult Dental Fee Schedule Updates - interChange Provider Important Message - Attention All Dental Providers and Dental Clinics - Effective July 1, 2022, legislation was passed to increase the adult endodontic rates and the adult dental fee schedule. The new dental fee rates have not yet been loaded into the system. Claims with dates of service July 1, 2022, and forward are currently still being paid using the dental fee schedule that was in effect on June 30, 2022. Once the new rates are loaded, claims will systematically mass adjust to pay the new rate. Details

Covered CT Member Eligibility - interChange Provider Important Message - The Department of Social Services (DSS) has identified an issue with member eligibility for a new program that went into effect July 1, 2022 called Covered CT. The eligibility response for some Covered CT members in the Automated Eligibility Verification System (AEVS) and/or Automated Voice Response System (AVRS) may not correctly respond with active Covered CT eligibility. Instead, the response could incorrectly indicate a member is not eligible. Details

The Covered CT Program (CCT) Includes Dental Benefits Beginning July 1, 2022 - Covered CT Program (CCT) is administered by the Department of Social Services. People who qualify and enroll in Covered CT will be eligible to receive their dental benefits through the Connecticut Dental Health Partnership (CTDHP) beginning July 1, 2022. Members in the Covered CT program will have a Medicaid look alike ID number and each will have a Covered CT member ID card. The CCT dental benefits are identical to the HUSKY Health dental benefits administered through the CTDHP. Details

Billing Updates for Dental T1015 Encounter Codes for Federally Qualified Health Care (FQHC) Centers - FQHCs should ensure that HUSKY members are scheduled appropriately in the dental clinics to adhere to performing a new patient or periodic dental visit in one appointment time slot in conjunction with prophylaxis, radiographs/diagnostic imaging and fluoride treatments, rather than unbundling the services. FDA Issues A Warning Regarding Dental Problems Linked To Buprenorphine Use - On Wednesday, January 12, 2022, the Food and Drug Administration issued a warning to dental and medical practitioners and consumers about the risk for dental diseases, including caries, oral infections and the loss of teeth from transmucosal buprenorphine medicines used to treat opioid use disorder and pain, as reported by Reuters. The warning covers buprenorphine tablets and films dissolved under the tongue and inside the buccal mucosa. Details

interChange Provider Re-enrollment Important Message - DXC is notifying providers with a re-enrollment due date in September, October, November and December, who have not yet submitted their re-enrollment application, that it is critical to re-enroll in the Connecticut Medical Assistance Program (CMAP) by their re-enrollment due date. HHS Extends Application Deadline for Medicaid Providers and Plans to Reopen Portal to Certain Medicare Providers - HHS is announcing an application deadline extension, until August 28, for the Medicaid/CHIP and dentist distributions from the Fund. Additionally, starting the week of August 10, HHS will give providers who received funds directly from the Phase 1 Medicare distribution a second opportunity to apply for funding from the Medicaid/CHIP or dentist distributions, to allow those providers to access funding up to 2% of annual patient revenues.
