Electronically Transmitted Prescriptions for Controlled Substances
Public Act 17-131 requires prescribing practitioners to electronically transmit the controlled substance prescription to a pharmacy beginning January 1, 2018. The law provides for exemptions, including "lack of technological capacity".

As such, the Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) has sent an email to all prescribers with an Active Control Substance Registration, a brief questionnaire on how to navigate the exemption form. Answers to the questionnaire will serve as an exemption. For help or questions with the questionnaire please contact DCP directly at 860-713-6065 or dcp.drugcontrol@ct.gov
